ELIZABETHBANKS2012.jpgI'm going to have to start this piece with wow. Just wow. Seriously? Wow.

Elizabeth Banks has quickly become one of those rare people who excites me on the red carpet - I genuinely look forward to seeing what she's going to pull out of her enviable wardrobe each and every time. After an amazingly colourful tour with The Hunger Games, you'd be forgiven for wondering whether the actress has taken a touch of experimental inspiration from her fashion-obsessed character, Effie Trinket - at least, that's what I like to think!

Having already worn a show stopping sculptural dress by Mary Katrantzou for the Met Gala earlier this week, I thought Elizabeth might tone it down slightly for her latest film premiere, but if anything she kicked it up a notch! The American actress attended the New York premiere of her new movie, 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' last night, and as usual, left me with a case of serious outfit envy. Elizabeth chose a difficult but outstanding dress from Peter Pilotto's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, which features heavily beaded detailing, floral patterns, cut out sections and sheer panels. With her perfectly styled Hollywood hair and sweet pink lipstick, Elizabeth makes the dress look even better than it did on the catwalk, finishing the look with a pair of glittering Walter Steiger peeptoe heels and beaded Judith Leiber clutch bag.

This is the second time this week that the 38-year-old, who plays baby-crazy Wendy in 'What To Expect', has stood out from the crowd in a London based label, and I love that she isn't afraid to wear fresh designer pieces that others may find a little intimidating. Keep it up Elizabeth!
