Dark Shadows Hollywood premiere
If you've gathered the strength to pull yourself away from our amazing Met Gala 2012 coverage for a few moments, then I congratulate you! In fact, I'm about to reward you for such courage with not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR amazing dresses courtesy of the Dark Shadows premiere yesterday. The event, which took place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, saw four very different actresses (with notably contrasting ages and style) take to the carpet - and somehow they all managed to compliment one another! Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Grace Moretz and Bella Heathcote, who all star in Tim Burton's newest vampire movie alongside Johnny Depp, looked stunning as they joked around in front of the press, pulling rabbit ears behind each other, hugging and laughing their way through the evening. With an age range spanning from 15-54 and varying levels of celebrity status, it looked as though each actress took influence from the gothic storyline in their own way, from Michelle who chose to accessorize with a necklace her vamp character sports in the movie, to Eva, who wore a dramatically embellished floor length number. I can't pick a favourite - can you?!
It's hard to believe that Michelle Pfeiffer is 54 in this gorgeous burnished gold dress by Lanvin, isn't it? The mother of two opted for minimal makeup and loosely tousled hair as she lead the fresh faced pack down the carpet in Sergio Rossi heels, clutching a black and gold Bottega Veneta bag. I'm so glad Michelle decided to show off her amazing figure - if I have any hope of looking like this at her age I wouldn't cover up either!
As Michelle matched her golden eye makeup to her dress, Eva Green followed suit with silver. The French actress and former Bond girl matched Johnny Depp's Tom Ford suit with a sparkling floor length gown from the designer, accessorizing only with silver jewellery. Not many women could carry off this gunmetal lace and bejewelled dress with its high neck and long sleeves, but Eva manages it, keeping her eye makeup suitably drama filled, and her dark hair swept back.
In-keeping with the gothic theme was Chloe Grace Moretz, who again, looked a lot older than her 15 years as she pouted her way down the carpet. If the starlet felt out of her depth alongside the other sultry actresses, she certainly didn't show it - Chloe looked amazing in a short blue brocade dress by Stella McCartney, and posed like a pro in a pair of strappy Jimmy Choo's. Despite the hit and miss footwear, I love Chloe's look here, from the style savvy dress, to the minimal accessorizing and barely there make-up.
Last but by no means least is the beautiful Bella Heathcote. The 24-year-old actress, who is best known for her role in Australian soap Neighbours, opted for a classic monochrome outfit consisting of a Chanel dress and Jason Wu heels for her first movie premiere. Doesn't she look angelic? I love those fabric detailed shoulders and chandelier earrings! I'm glad that Bella was brave enough to pull the dress in at the waist with a skinny black belt, and much prefer her Jason Wu's to Chloe's Jimmy Choo's.
