The pencil skirt is one of this season's key silhouettes, lending itself to most big trends, but it can be a difficult one to wear outside of the office. How do you style a super-fitted, bodycon skirt like the one I've chosen without going for the obvious bombshell approach?

Leaving leopard print and 'sexy secretary' aside (note - no seamed stockings in this post!) I've come up with three very different ways of making the most of Karen Millen's indigo bodycon pencil skirt. Add a ladylike twist for day with a silk scarf blouse and tan accessories, glam it up to the max for a hot Summer night (if you have the bod to pull it off) with a Dolce & Gabbana inspired tropical cropped top, hula girl jewellery, and Chanel-esque shell clutch, or go patriotic for the Queen's Jubilee with crown motif, and a prim cardigan. It's twee enough to work for the occasion without going into naff Union Jack territory...and we do love a crown at Catwalk Queen!
