Vivienne Westwood designs capsule collection for Queen's Jubilee
To help celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee in June, the queen of fashion design, Dame Vivienne Westwood, has created a special capsule collection. The line of red carpet dresses which aim to capture the luxurious and regal nature of the royal family.
Created from taffeta, silk satin, crepe de chine, and georgette, the collection is comprised from a palette of light greys, aquas, powder pinks and corals. Styles have been draped, gathered and hems have been pleated folded. I particularly like the design created from a Union Jack flag, hello Geri Halliwell!
"My clothes allow you to project your personality, and are quite theatrical in the sense that they are real clothes, well-designed, and they give you a chance to express yourself," Westwood said in a statement . "They are also inviting people to respond to them and want to come and talk to you. You have a much more interesting life if you wear impressive clothes."
Westwood's Red Carpet Capsule Collection will hit stores from May. It also includes a line of jewels which you may also wish to check out at the same time.
