Unexpected Style Icon: Beetlejuice
Films often influence fashion, but if you'd told me that one of this Spring / Summer's breakout trends would be inspired by a cult classic Tim Burton movie made way back in 1988, I would have laughed in your face.
But it's true - vertical stripes are cropping up on many a fashion blog, often in the guise of Motel's humbug-striped Jordan jeans. And while most of the bloggers rocking the look weren't even born when Beetlejuice hit cinemas, they owe a lot to Michael Keaton's dapper bio-exorcist when it comes to this trend.
I have to admit I can't really take this trend seriously having seen the film more than a dozen times, but any excuse to get a pic of the man himself onto the blog is fine by me! Here are just a few of the many vertical striped black and white pieces you can stock up on to get your Beetlejuice on!
