At a press day this afternoon, I was introduced to a new website called The Style Standard and I have to admit, I let out a little squeak of excitement when I saw their products hanging from the rail. Let me start by admitting something to you - the majority of my wardrobe is made up of basic pieces. I like simple cuts and the colour spectrum doesn't stray too far from black, grey, and cream. If you're a fan of big bold colour and print then at first glance The Style Standard might not be for you, but EVERYONE has dependable basic pieces that they return to again and again, and this is where the site comes into it's own. Founded by Katie Frogatt, a graduate of The London College of Fashion, The Style Standard is dedicated to providing reasonably priced quality essentials and helping you to create the perfect capsule wardrobe. Whilst many retailers rely on seasonally led trends, The Style Standard focuses on "versatile basics and style staples to make your wardrobe work harder", working with a range of brands from across the globe, including Margit Brandt, Selected Femme, and Second Female. We've picked a handful of our favourite snaps from the press day and The Style Standard to get you in the mood - if you see something you like, head over to the website where you can find advice on how to wear your garment and the style story behind it (I love that attention to detail!)
