Jean Paul Gaultier to judge Cannes?
Fashion is always a big part of the Cannes Film Festival, which begins May 16. Now it seems that a big personality in fashion may be a part of the judges panel. Today Festival President Gilles Jacob fueled rumors that French designer Jean Paul Gaultier may be sitting on Italian director Nanni Moretti's jury.
"I can't confirm it, but I am not denying it either," Jacob told WWD.
We can also expect lots of big names on the red carpet! Tilda Swinton's film Moonrise Kingdom, directed by Wes Anderson, will open the festival. Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman will attend for The Paperboy, Brad Pitt (with Angie on his arm?) for Killing Them Softly, Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart for On The Road (and Stewart's boyfriend Robert Pattinson for Cosmopolis), Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey for Mud and Nick Cave, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska for Lawless. That is quite a lineup, and quite a lot of ladies (and gents!) we can't wait to see flex their fashion muscles along with their acting chops.
The Artist star Bérénice Bejo will be mistress of ceremonies.
