Agyness Deyn opens up about her acting
With a few meaty acting roles now coming Agyness Deyn's way, the British model has opened up to Vogue UK about her new career.
Speaking of her recent role as a stripper in the film, Pusher, a remake of the 1996 cult classic. "I actually shadowed an erotic dancer," she told Vogue UK. "I watched her at work - she was so generous with her time and it helped me to learn so much about the industry. It's great to be able to use facts and reality and then fuse them with what you know about the character, so that it's not a person built entirely on your imagination."
Some of her most recent roles include the West End theatre play, The Leisure Society, a small role as Aphrodite in Clash of the Titans, as well as various short films.
"It helps in a way that there has been a camera in my face for the last 12 years," she said. "I'm very comfortable with that. I suppose people will always have preconceived ideas of what I might be like because I was a model, but it's something I just don't think about. I just want to do something creative that fulfils me in a new way."
As for her dream part, she says a "positive role model" who "mean something to other women."
"Jane Eyre would be amazing, so would Joan of Arc; women who are historically deep. Doing a period drama would be really fun too, I love the idea of tapping into an era that you're not living in. You'd learn so much."
