See how Chanel make its little black jackets (video)
It is time to watch in awe (like I did) just how Chanel makes its iconic little black jackets. As you can imagine the whole process involves several different stages which requires quite a lot of hands. There is so much attention to detail and care taken in the creation of these jackets it is really impressive.
For instance, at the fashion house's atelier patterns are cut by hand for each piece, then sewn together section-by-section, before the finishing touches are added and the garment is pressed and steamed to perfection. It is quite incredible to see how much of the work is done by hand by real people, perhaps this is why they can charge so much!
Chanel is releasing a book The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL's Classic Revisited which has been penned by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld. The book will include photographs of famous stars who have been lucky enough to wear a Chanel jacket including Sarah Jessica Parker and Alice Dellal.
