For the last couple of days all eyes have been on Samantha Cameron and Michelle Obama as the pair have been thrown together during the UK Prime Minister's state visit to the US. Last night the ladies frocked up for a White House state dinner to honour David Cameron.

For the occasion both ladies opted to wear different shades of blue in ensembles that showed off their support of British fashion. For her part SamCam chose to wear a blue floral gown designed by London-based Alessandra Rich. The dress was an interesting choice for Sam as it comprised of several different elements including a high-neck, 3/4 sleeves, lace detailing, a pussy-bow in a sheer fabric and a belted waist. She wore her hair down loosely and bangs out. Perhaps my favourite aspect of her look is that she accessorised her gown with a simple pair of black high heels from retailer Next.

Meanwhile, MObama went in a different direction with her choice of gown. She wore an elegant off-the-shoulder teal gown designed by Marchesa. It was a fitting choice for the First Lady with Marchesa designer, Georgina Chapman and her husband movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, attending the event. Ensuring that her look really shined, Michelle added a series of chunky beaded necklaces designed by Tom Binns with her hair swept back. It's not the first time that she has chosen a piece by Binns, she also wore an elaborate necklace by Binns in London last year.

Other fashionable ladies to attend the event included long-time Obama supporter Anna Wintour who rocked up to the event in Chanel.

Which of these ladies do you think nailed their look the most? Samantha or Michelle? Tell us below...
