To help celebrate it's 30th anniversary Guess have re-recruited Claudia Schiffer to star in a brand new advertising campaign (above and below, left). Chanelling the original ad from 1989, the supermodel has been photographed by Ellen von Unwerth in a black-and-white image dressed in a bustier, gold hoop earrings, and her Sixties-style blonde hair.

After appearing in Guess ads from 1989 to 1991, Schiffer says: "Guess will always have a soft spot in my heart, and I'm excited that 23 years later we can still work together so successfully. Shooting the Guess 30th anniversary campaign was like going back in time. It brought back so many great memories and has been a lot of fun working together again with Ellen and Paul."

Schiffer models a capsule collection which has been inspired by her and other models who have starred as Guess Girls such as Laetitia Casta, Naomi Campbell, Anna Nicole Smith, Bridget Hall, and Drew Barrymore. "Fashion is nothing else but cycles. The trend was there and the trend comes back," said Paul Marciano, chief executive officer and creative director of Guess. As for choosing the supermodel for the campaign, Marciano adds: "She was a turning point of Guess, she was a turning point of Ellen's career, Guess was a turning point of a life for Claudia."

The single shot of Claudia (above the cut, right) wearing a lace bustier which funnily enough didn't include one bit of Guess denim and wasn't even made by Guess "made her career," according to Marciano. "Everybody talked about the Guess Girl."

Guess's 30th Anniversary Collection comprises of 15 pieces such as "T-shirts printed with bedazzled images of Line Gost and Anna Nicole Smith; a sheer leopard-print blouse; jeans with a cut-off waistband originally modeled by Adriana Lima; a sleeveless black-and-white gingham top worn by Eva Herzigova, and the three-zipper Marilyn jeans that launched the brand." Prices range between $39 and $138 with the collection to be available in Guess flagship stores worldwide and new website guess1981.com on April 24th.
