Charlotte Casiraghi is the new face of Gucci
It is a long way from riding horses but Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco has proven that royalty really can mean gold for designers. The young royal has just signed on to become the new face of Gucci. Her affiliation with the fashion house is not new, she has worn equestrian gear designed by Gucci for the past two years to compete in events such as the 2011 Global Champions tour.
Now the 25-year-old is set to appear in advertising for Frida Giannini who once told Vogue.com that she considered Charlotte among her top 15 personal fashion icons. She described her as "the modern royal whose effortless elegance defies contemporary style."
Meanwhile many of you will remember Charlotte's appearance on the September issue of Vogue Paris last year. She was photographed for the famous glossy by none other than Mario Testino, which was a happy distraction from all the Kate Middleton talk. Speaking of, I wonder if we'll see the Duchess of Cambridge snag her own modelling contract any time soon... hmm, doubtful.
