I am in no way a scary film buff so needless to say the trailer for a new film called The Moth Diaries already frightens the bejusus out of me! The flick stars Lily Cole in one of the leading roles. Described as a psychological thriller (eep!) the movie sees the model play Ernessa Block whose arrival at a boarding school has one student, Rebecca (played by Sarah Bolger) immediately suspicious. Eventually she starts to question whether or not she is actually a vampire and not just another creepy kid.

Now before you start thinking "oh crap, not another vampire movie please?" one thing you must know is this ain't no Twilight kiddies okay? This film appears to be much darker and much more sinister despite being set in a high school and starring teenage girls. For starters it is directed by Mary Harron of American Psycho fame, so already you know this isn't going to be a picnic in the park.

For her part Lily is sporting some seriously major eyebrows and dark hair - the true markings of a vampire-teen, surely. She also seems to retain her British accent which is refreshing since her co-stars are all American. Of course this isn't the model's first foray into acting either. She has previously starred in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and St Trinians. Just like Agyness Deyn, Lily has re-focussed her career on acting rather than modelling lately.

There is no date yet on when The Moth Diaries will be released in the UK, but it is scheduled to hit cinemas on limited release in the US on 20th April 2012. You can find out more info about the film on IMDB.

I can't wait to hear what you think of this one.
