Prabal Gurung's Fall 2012 show on day one of New York Fashion Week was, to say the least, a glamorous affair. A pallette of sleek midnight blues, ebony blacks, rich golds and pearly whites played host to a plethora of red carpet worthy looks that gleamed, shimmered and glittered as they paraded down the runway.

Moving on succinctly from the designer's Spring 2012 collection of modern floral displays, this time prints headed in a more abstract direction with kalidascope shapes in swirling motions. Textures spanned sparkling and glamourously luxe furs, fine satin silks, glossy leathers, intricate beading and see through sheers. Gurung's trademark expert tailing took form on all looks with sleek, sexy and signature silhouettes in the form of fishtail floor length gowns, pencil dresses, hipster slim-fit flares and military capes. Check out some of our favourite looks in the gallery, my personal lust-worthy one is the iridescent blue skirt paired with oversized jumper.
