"It's Asian, but in a New York way," Lazaro Hernandez said of he and Jack McCollough's Fall 2012 Proenza Schouler collection. Any expected references to Asian culture - say, the kimono - were very subtle, and to me it was more of a futuristic, bad ass vibe with lots of mini-skirts, leather and asymmetry.

There were lots of crafty details like thin woven strips of leather, quilted satin, embroidery these interesting skirts that ended up being woven paillettes. All these feminine elements helped soften the overall tough feel and oversized silhouettes. There were also a lot of really wearable skirts and sweaters. Feel free to go crazy for Proenza Schouler in some of those straightjackets. :)
