Michelle Williams_H&M.jpg

Do not adjust your monitor, you read that correctly. At the BAFTA Awards 2012, Michelle Williams chose to wear a dress from good old high street favourite H&M.

But don't get too excited, this isn't exactly an off-the-rack number that you'll be able to find in your local branch. At least not yet - it's a custom design for Michelle, but the good news is H&M tweeted us to say it'll be in store soon! We mere mortals will be able to get hold of a top and skirt inspired by the gown in April 2012 as part of the Conscious Collection made from more sustainable materials.

We have to applaud Michelle for rocking the boat and wearing a dress from an unexpected source. With everyone from Chanel to Jason Wu dressing her for other red carpet appearances, it's great to see her showing us she can look fab in high street too.

We also love her clutch - which is made to look like the works of Arthur Miller, who was (of course) married to Marilyn Monroe, who Michelle portrays in the film she's nominated for, My Week With Marilyn.

So...Topshop for the Oscars, then?
