Day four of London Fashion Week saw half Italian designer and usual red carpet dress provider, Antonio Beradi, show his Autumn Winter Collection.

Not normally one for the ugly pretty that we expect from the likes of Louise Gray and Meadham Kirchoff at London Fashion Week, we were a little taken a back when the first looks (and all subsequent ones it turned out) saw model's hair fashioned in some kind of angular shape which I can only think to describe as helmet hair. We're not ones to discourage established designers such as Beradi from changing things up (quite the opposite actually), and this style decision wasn't necessarily one to disapprove of but definitely came unexpected considering the chic up dos and sleek ponytails we've seen showcased in past collections from the talented designer.

The clothes on the other hand, were well within Beradi's characteristic remit; as always with this designer the runway played host to an array of lust worthy items that were luxe in every way imaginable. This season saw many facets to the offering - perhaps more varied than we've seen before; from sleek minimalist tailoring, to highly opulent gowns, luxurious metallic textures, stunning embellishment and clever dresses. Most of the offering fit into Beradi's usual sophisticated luxe grown up and elegant style, but it has to be said that one or two looks felt a little out of place going down more of a sporty feel with aquamarine blue blocked with white in high volume skater skirts and button up contrast collars.

Overall, an impressive and lust-worthy collection as always, complemented by the clever choice of hair, but possibly in danger of feeling disjointed at times. Perhaps Beradi should stick to what he does best with those red carpet worthy gowns and think about incorporating those new ideas with a succinct flow next season?
