Yasmin Le Bon models 110 pound couture dress for Stephane Rolland
It is not every day that you see a 50 kilo dress strut down the runway, no siree! Not even in Paris. Not even during Haute Couture Week. That is until now.
Yasmin Le Bon took to the catwalk in Paris yesterday to unveil a 50 kilo (110 pound) dress during the Stephane Rolland couture show. The former supermodel stepped out in a red silk jersey gown that featured assorted lacquered metal plates on the top section and down the front. In addition to the heavy metal, the gown also comprised of a 45 metre long train, you know just to make things a little easier for Yas!
Flanked by two male assistants who supported her in case she collapsed, the 47-year-old modelled the unbelievable gown during the show's finale. For his Spring / Summer 2012 collection, Rolland found inspiration in the works of kinetic artist Michel Deverne. This influenced him to create the simple floor-length dresses. Hmm, I'm not sure that quite included crazy heavy dresses though.
