The making of Chanel's Spring/Summer 2012 shoot
If, like me, you recently sat in awe of Chanel's Spring/Summer 2012 campaign then here is an added treat. The famed fashion house has released a special behind-the-scenes video from the making of the ads which were lensed by Karl Lagerfeld (who else?) The final adverts are in black-and-white and after seeing this footage I can't quite understand why. Set against the shimmery turquoise blue of the ocean, how could one take the colour out of such an incredible backdrop? Or better yet, why would one want to?
Nevertheless, the seaside acrobatics performed by models Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls is really something to admire. Of course many hands make light work, and you can see from this video it took a hell of a lot of hands to help make this campaign something truly special.
