Latest: Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, TV series
An update from our recent story on the new TV series based on the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries. As we told you back in September, the book will be adapted for the small screen by America's CW network. Now the channel has officially ordered the pilot for the show which is based on Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school; set in the early 1980s!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series sees Carrie tackle those tricky teenage issues of love, sex, family and friendship while living in Manhattan. Josh Schwartz of Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie will executive produce, while former SATC writer/co-producer Amy B. Harris is in charge of adapting the book that was written by Candace Bushnell.
Don't expect to see any of our favourite foursome such as Sarah Jessica Parker involved, although there has already been some speculation over who might be considered for casting. Blake Lively, Elizabeth Olsen, and Selena Gomez are just a few of the names that have been bandied about.
Do you have any thoughts on who you'd like to see play a teenage Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda?
