Rihanna and Nicola Roberts team up for new fashion TV show
At first it seems an unlikely pairing, but nevertheless it is true. Rihanna and Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts are joining forces to launch a brand new fashion-based TV show for Sky Living.
Rihanna's role will be to search Britain for the next generation of fashion designers. She is also executive producer and be involved in the casting and post-production of the yet unnamed show. While Nicola's job will be to host the series which sees contestants vie for the opportunity to design a costumer for Rihanna's Wireless performance in Hyde Park on July 8.
"I have been very fortunate to work with some truly amazing designers and stylists throughout my career, and they have been instrumental in making sure my creative vision reaches the stage," said Rihanna. "I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the course of the show."
Speaking of her involvement in the show, Nicola added: "I was so flattered when Rihanna asked me to work with her on this show. I'm so excited for us to get started on finding a new up and coming British designer who just needs a chance, a little bit of help in getting their skills noticed. I'm looking for someone who can think outside the box, and who isn't going to give up at the first hurdle. Ultimately, someone who can't go 'undiscovered' any more."
There is no word yet on what the show will be called or when it will hit our screens, but I will keep my ears to the ground. What do you think of this TV concept? Is it a bit been-there-done-that or are you excited to see Rihanna and Nicola in action? Share your thoughts with us below.
