Two high-profile stars turned to Alber Elbaz and Lanvin for the Golden Globes this year, so it's no surprise to see their dresses share a common theme - colourblocked berry shades.

But that's where the similarities end. Emma Stone went for soft chiffon with a deep neckline ("it's purple and fuchsia, and there's an eagle" she told Ryan Seacrest). It's a simple, easy-to-wear dress, but we think it looks beautiful on Emma.

Natalie Portman also wore Lanvin, but she went for something more structured and vintage-inspired. This dress looks like something Hubert de Givenchy might have designed for Audrey Hepburn, but it's actually modern Lanvin. Some have compared it to Angelina Jolie's Atelier Versace dress - the foldover top is very similar, it has to be said. Obviously great minds think alike!
