Karl by Karl Lagerfeld for Net a Porter goes on sale
Always wanted to dress like Karl Lagerfeld? Now you can! The Kaiser's long-awaited diffusion line Karl for Net a Porter has just gone live, so if you get your skates on, you could snap up a signature piece for under £100.
The range has a lot in common with the Karl Lagerfeld for H&M collaboration from a few years ago, in that you get a lot of black, a lot of leather, plenty of tuxedo detailing, and a big smattering of Karl's face. Prices start at £20 for a cotton tote and go up to £980 for a leather jacket.
It's a hit and miss collection, but one thing it does do well is creating a kind of Karl 'uniform' for devotees of the designer.
The tux-inspired pieces are great modern wardrobe classics, the leather and bejewelled stand-up collars are expensive, but will instantly 'Karlify' any outfit. Sadly, the Karlface t-shirts and some of the faddier items (binbag-esque black boxing shorts, for one) don't fare quite so well.
