Atelier Versace Spring / Summer 2012: Neon neon!
l'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris played host to Atelier Versace today, as Donatella showed a couture collection on the catwalk for the first time in 8 years. The comeback show bore all the hallmarks of the brand, with plenty of bright colours, metallics and beautifully detailed fabrics. But Versace for H&M this was not.
It was a collection designed for the red carpet - start taking bets now on what Angelina will wear to the Oscars. Liquid gold mixed with laser-cut silk, lots of lime green and orange and embellishment beyond belief. No doubt some of those structural bodysuits will become floor length gowns before awards season is out.
The show notes described the colour scheme as"Gold and silver in tones of champagne and pearl grey are injected with shots of vivid orange and acid green, a rich cocktail of the dramatic Versace palette"
The Atelier Versace women were neon warriors, perfectly polished and ready for battle, right the way down to their killer heels.
