After a stellar year, featuring a string of hit singles and a swag of music awards, Adele could soon be receiving her very first cover for American Vogue. Of course she is no stranger to high fashion magazines, after appearing on covers for British Vogue, Cosmopolitan and The Gentlewoman.

According to WWD, designers have been asked to create special outfits for Adele to suit her full-figure. The singing superstar wears a UK size 16, US size 14 which is outside the sample sizing that designers produce. These outfits will be photographed for the March issue, say fashion insiders.

Adele has previously graced the October 2011 issue of British Vogue. She was profiled for the April 2009 issue of US Vogue, which sparked criticism over whether the American glossy slimmed down the crooner by Photoshopping her body.

I suppose this now begs the question - just how much will Anna Wintour airbrush her for the March cover? So far spokeswoman for Vogue has declined to confirm Adele's cover.
