NYFW-Marc-Jacobs-SS12.jpgThe press day for Marc Jacobs' Spring 2012 collection has been forced to cancel after items from the collection were stolen by thieves!

Contrary to reports that the entire collection had been swiped, WWD reports that parts of the Spring sample collection was taken on Wednesday morning. The robbery occurred on London's Mount Street while the collection was in transit from Paris. It is believed the thieves made off with some ready-to-wear and accessories.

The brand's PR team wrote in an email: "Dear all, The Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day tomorrow in the Marc Jacobs store is cancelled, due to the theft of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris."

Without the samples, magazines will be unable to borrow clothes for shoots. However, it is understood that Jacobs has duplicates for many of the looks. The incident is under investigation.

Meanwhile, Londonites should make sure to keep an eye out for some very fashionable folks around town! Marc Jacobs tweeted that there's a reward for anyone who gets a picture of the missing pieces.
