Naomi Campbell and Karl Lagerfeld land editing jobs
Proving that they are more than just a model and designer respectively, Naomi Campbell and Karl Lagerfeld are about to don their editing hats. The pair have landed separate gigs to edit some of the world's biggest titles.
Naomi is lined up to become the editor-at-large of both Russian and German editions of Interview magazine. The supermodel has written an introduction to the December issue of the Russian title which will hit newsstands on Friday. Those who are keen to snap up a copy must look for Leonardo DiCaprio's face which graces the cover. Meanwhile, she will also produce a Q&A in the German edition which is due out on 20th January.
Lagerfeld, on the other hand, has agreed to become global guest editor of Metro International newspapers. The gig will see the Kaiser spend a day in the newspaper's Paris offices working alongside editors to provide commentary and illustrations for their "The World According to Karl" issue. The special edition will launch to coincide with Fashion Month with coverage in Metro newspapers in 100 cities across 22 countries. The designer follows in Lady Gaga's recent footsteps by reaching out to an audience of 800 million people across the world.
"I love daily papers and it's fun to be part of one of them just for the day. Metro is on a worldwide scale and it's even more fun," Lagerfeld said.
For anyone who would love to kick-start their journalism career, there will also be an opportunity to enter Metro's Look Book competition. Readers can submit their own fashion statements to the company's website for the chance to win a trip to Paris and a job as editorial assistant for the newspaper. Find out more info here.
