Following months of anticipation Donatella Versace officially launched her new collection for H&M. With a fashion show that promised to be bigger than Ben Hur, the designer unveiled her new line in New York on a pier along the Hudson River.

The guest list was filled with A-listers including Blake Lively, Uma Thurman, Jessica Alba, Linda Evangelista, Sofia Coppola and more. But it was the clothes that everyone was there to see. Bold, bright and not for the faint-hearted is how I'd describe the Versace for H&M collection. Filled with studded leather, metallic fabrics, leggings, tropical prints, minidresses, high heels and costume jewellery, the range livened up the catwalk in a major way. Many of the items were reinterpreted from Versace's archives, including a black dress with gold hardware to resemble that famous Elizabeth Hurley safety pin dress.

For the after-party Nicki Minaj and Prince took to the stage for separate performances in a bash that recreated a Miami nightclub.
