Back in June, we attended Graduate Fashion Week and saw Rory Longdon from Nottingham Trent University receive the highly sought after Gold Award for his luxe collection of sheer knits, layered lengths and metallic textures. As well as a useful £20,000, Rory's prize also included the opportunity to design a collection for Graduate Fashion Week's headline sponsor, George clothing.

My first thoughts were ones of worry - how was such a directional, innovative and enthusiastic young designer going to shape his new collection into an offering suitable for the mainstream George customer? It turns out my concerns were unfounded; the 7 piece capsule collection which hit stores nationwide yesterday, is made up of ultra wearable pieces which still contain an element of Rory's trademark style of embellishment, metallics and lots of texture. The metallic knit pencil skirt is sure to make my Christmas wish list.

Check out the collection in the gallery above as well as some snaps from the runway of Rory's original collection for Graduate Fashion Week.
