The sex returns to TV with 'The Carrie Diaries' new series
After months of rumours, it's official - Sex and the City is returning to TV! But before you get excited it's not quite what you think. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda will be returning to the small screen but as teenagers. The CW network has confirmed it will produce a series based on The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex and the City written by Candace Bushnell.
The show will be set during Carrie's high school years and will be created by the same folk who bring us Gossip Girl and The O.C. Neither Darren Star (the creator of SATC TV show) or Sarah Jessica Parker has been connected to the project, but just last month we reported that a TV deal could be in the works. There have also been several actresses called out to play the awesome foursome, namely Blake Lively and Selena Gomez.
