Gallery: The LOOK show from the front row!
Yesterday, on only the second day of London Fashion Week, we took our eyes off the SS12 shows and stepped gladly into the here and now. The LOOK show; a catwalk event headed up by the weekly glossy, showcased the best high street brands and their top offerings for AW11.
The show was held at the brand new Westfield Stratford City, and while navigating the crowds was pretty painful (especially around Primark!) the new shopping centre was the perfect platform for the show and its high profile attendees.
All the retailers' collections were strong and enticed us ito fall back in love with the trends of the current AW11 season all over again. But it would be rude not to pick favourites and there were some huge key pieces that it would be a crime not to pass on to you!
First off was Monsoon's Fusion range, where there are two key styles to look out for; a long beautifully draped kimono dress with billowing waterfall sleeves, and a cute rust-coloured chiffon midi dress with multicoloured spots.
Meanwhile, Dorothy Perkins shone for inventive use of colour; warm winter brights were clashed with rich jewel tones for a look that really popped. The blue shorts suit was gorgeous.
H&M have a couple of strong outerwear pieces that we took a liking to; a bold red cocoon coat and high volume shearling cape. We've created a gallery with some of our favourite catwalk looks so click on the first image below to get a closer look!
