Paris Fashion Week Spring 2012: Balmain
While Balmain may already becoming a bit cliched, as a fan of the rocker-chic look I always look forward to their show. It seems this season they took their rocker a little bit country. But not southern rock, as one might expect. But their cowgirl did not hail from Nashville as one might expect. It was a much more Western influence - think tooled leather, big belt buckles, a sort of Vegas, Elvis aesthetic. All cut to the tiniest thigh circumference and fit on the longest, leanest of frames, of course.
Designer Olivier Rousteing assured the fashion world that the collection was still "superrich and superglamorous" after the exit of Christophe Decarnin and he proved it in the clothes.
