Carmen Marc Valvo was gentlemanly enough to give me a few words about his Spring 2012 collection backstage at the NASDAQ building in Times Square where he held his show.
"Spring for me was about summer...boardwalks...fireworks and flip-flops, the Fourth of July," he said as he described the all-American aesthetic.
Truth be told, I can't see any of these girls in flip flops, especially not with some of the more glamorous gowns I'll be showing you later today.
"It gives a nod to Claire McCardell, a nod to the American spirit, dressed-down elegance."
