Marc Jacobs may have had to push his mainline show back due to Hurricane Irene, but nothing could stop his secondary line, Marc by Marc Jacobs from getting a top spot on the schedule last night. There were more bright colours to behold with Jacobs sending out bright orange, red, teal and coral. Minimalistic lines meant pieces remained fuss-free and clean. Shift dresses, boxy jackets, sleeveless shirts, printed skirts, and breezy separates were the order of the day.

Retro one-piece swimsuits were a highlight with models carrying stripey beach bags, in addition to more peplum dresses - I think peplums are the big winner so far. I wonder whether Jacobs will continue them when he starts his rumoured new post at Christian Dior... at least that's what everyone is talking about this New York Fashion Week season!
