It was a calm start for Diane von Furstenberg yesterday afternoon. Titled "Beginnings," DVF admitted her S/S12 show involved something that she'd never attempted before - she started her show with white. Loose dresses, full skirts and open blouses all in white kicked things off, before bit-by-bit more and more colour creeped in.

Inspired by modern Africa, DVF and her creative director Yvan Mispelaere combined a multi-layer of different fabrics, colours and textures to create tiered tops, sexy split dresses, and oversized floaty jackets. There were also some gorgeous soft-toned suits to drool over - relaxed, feminine and wonderfully chic. Momentum quickly gathered as loud retro floral prints took over the runway in silky trousers, wrap around dresses and shapely coats. This season so far is just riddled with crazy colourful prints!
