New York Fashion Week Spring 2012: Victoria Beckham
Going against the need for eye-popping prints and colours this season was Victoria Beckham, who unveiled her Spring 2012 collection in a runway show Sunday morning. The new mum continued her theme for roomier clothing by showing below-the-knee sheath dresses (some featuring colour blocking), tailored coats and engineer caps designed by Stephen Jones.
After the sleek dresses were done, out came the shiny cocoon-style sports jackets, zip dresses and tennis-style skirts. Despite the warmer months, Beckham stuck to a mostly dark palette of black and navy, but also dabbled in white, lilac, silver blue and burnt orange. Many of the pieces in this collection were wearable - uh-huh, you don't have to be Victoria Beckham to pull them off.
