"Park Avenue princess gone bad," is how Jason Wu describes his Spring/Summer 2012 collection which took place on Friday. The designer showed a mixture of uptown sophistication and downtown edginess with prim and proper blouses paired with punk skirts. He teamed up with street artist KAWS to create stunning floating petal prints which overlaid a hands motif to reflect how many hands work on a piece before it is presented. These elements of pop art were blended with strong Fifties silhouettes and bold colours such as candy pink, electric blue and chartreuse.

After a series of peplum dresses, high waist shorts and tailored trousers that were cinched in with narrow belts, Wu turned his attention to eveningwear. Full skirted evening gowns floated down the runway in shiny folds with uneven hemlines. Click on to see a video from the show...
