New York Fashion Week Spring 2012: Rebecca Taylor
I had some mixed feelings about the Rebecca Taylor Spring 2012 fashion show. There were elements I loved - drapey silhouettes, eyelets, metallics, mixed prints. There were dressed I'd be excited to see on the red carpet and hope some of the front row celebs make that happen. And there were elements that didn't work for me. Taylor is clearly trying to make this loose open-weave knit, nude paillette crop tank happen. And in the words of Mean Girl Regina George, "stop trying to make fetch happen." The nude paillette crop tank is not going to happen. There were also some inexplicable denim blue anoraks that looked.. well, stupid. I literally wrote in my show notes "stupid looking." So, an uneven collection from Rebecca Taylor, but definitely some pieces that would improve any spring wardrobe with glitz and glamour.
