Hey Mambo! Mambo Italiano! Who epitomises Italian style more than Dolce & Gabbana? The pair celebrated their heritage with a colourful carnivale set to the soundtrack of Sophia Loren singing "Mambo Italiano". Despite announcing the closure of their secondary line, D&G, last week, the pair put on a strong show yesterday on day five of Milan Fashion Week.

Their tribute to Italian culture arrived in the form of full skirt sun dresses which featured an array of eye-popping floral prints. There were also the more skimpier options such as fitted mini dresses with oversized bows, cropped bras, knickerbockers, wide-sleeved dress coats, and suits painted with giant red chillies. The collection seemed to leap onto the catwalk from another era, when Loren was queen and we all wanted to be Audrey Hepburn scooting around on the back of a moped in Roman Holiday. A sheer delight!
