Peter Pilotto SS12

The Spring Summer 2012 collection from Peter Pilotto brought a touch of the exotic to London Waterloo's old Eurostar terminal this Fashion Week. Drawing inspiration from a recent trek to Indonesia, the design duo were taken with the flora and fauna of the lush jungle.

As the models walked the runway, I found myself immediately transported to the tropics, imagining amazing editorial photo shoots with models crawling around in the jungle dressed in Peter Pilotto and OTT bright costume jewellery. (If anyone reading this feels like funding my trip to the tropics to realise my fashion fantasy feel free to Tweet me @catwalkqueen *inserts a winky smiley face*)

Magnified graphic digital prints of 'indigenous flowers, the white caps of waves and the shadows and silhouettes cast by leaves when looking skyward' were juxtaposed with sportswear and scuba details, lavish embroidery and beading.

Attention to tailoring and shapes had not been compromised by the focus on detailing either; dresses and skirts came both in the form of full lantern or pencil, with a favourite piece of mine being the above two-tier dress with a sculptured asymmetric skirt. Beautiful.
