Despite the economic downturn around the world, Julien Macdonald turned to all things rich and famous for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The Welsh designer is looking at the Asian market for his latest designs where he says, "the new clients are coming from." "So the thing is, all the Russians, they are bankrupt now. It's all about China."

As for his inspiration, Macdonald cited superyachts - modern, clean, white and pure luxury - as what helped him to create this latest collection. Leather biker dresses, Chinese Ming prints, bonded jersey, and painted sheer dresses dominated the runway.
