Richard Nicoll continued where Paul Costelloe left off for S/S 2012 with a collection of 60s-inspired frocks. But this time, they were even shorter, and came in sugared almond hues and all shades of blue from ice through to cornflower. They were modernised with tiny spaghetti straps, sheer fabrics and sci-fi detailing. Think 'bedtime for Judy Jetson' and you're halfway there...

The look had a tendency to get a bit too 60s girlie at times (I was reminded of the babydoll dresses worn by Austin Powers' fembots) but Nicoll pulled it back at the end with a killer finale frock in sheer black with layered skirts and ruffled straps. This is feminine and romantic with a sexy, modern edge...if you can get past the bridesmaid dress colour scheme!
