Usually when I'm backstage at a London Fashion Week show, the tension is palpable. There's makeup and hair artists, models and important looking people with clipboards running around everywhere shouting things. But at Basso & Brooke yesterday the atmosphere was completely different to anything I've experienced before.

Arriving an hour and a half before the show, I walked into the very un-glamorous backstage area of the Old Sorting Office, home to Basso & Brooke for the afternoon to find two very calm designers, a hub of hair and makeup activity and a couple of people with clipboards, but no shouting.

Kenna, ghd's Creative Director and hair artist for the show even had time to talk me through his concept for the collection. You'll be able to read all about this tomorrow on Kiss and Makeup.

The models did their final walk-through forty-five minutes before the show was due to start, which as far as I'm concerned is virtually un-heard of.

In fact the atmosphere backstage was so exciting that I completely forgot to take up my seat for the show and ended up hanging out with the production team as the models walked the runway!
