Another season for Bora Aksu, and who knew what treats they had in store for the fashion crowd who showed up to their SS12 show at London Fashion Week? Well, we did actually, as the lovely people over at Toni&Guy invited us for a cheeky preview backstage before the models took to the runway.

Lets talk clothes; everything had an opulent and extravagent feel, with serious attention to detail with a contrasting feel of rawness. This made for a well rounded collection with a Victorian feel, confirmed by Bora himself who confessed his main inspiration for the collection was "Five handwritten postcards from 1905". Dresses had texture; think intricate ruffles, lace and crochet combined with layering and cut outs. Starting with nude tones, the stream of models ended on navy blue and black notes, which brought a gothic edge to proceedings. Each pair of legs were covered with patchwork fishnets which added to the hectic style of dressing we're seeing from the Saint Martins graduate.

Hair mirrored the Victorian theme with a raw and natural looking tucked under plait whilst makeup was strong with a brown smokey eye and nude lip (See for a more in depth beauty report). Watch the show for yourself in the video below the cut and checkout some more of our best backstage snaps!
