Giles Deacon and Emanuel Ungaro call it a day
It's the sixth change for the French fashion house of Ungaro with Giles Deacon deciding to leave the label.
According to WWD, Emanuel Ungaro and Deacon have "mutually decided" to part ways after a year. Deacon joined the label in May 2010 and went on to create two collections. It is believed the next Spring/Summer 2012 collection will not reflect Deacon's work, but rather that of the design team.
It is the sixth designer who has come and left Ungaro in as many years, following the sale of the company in 2005. Speaking about his own namesake line Giles, Deacon said: "I've been having some serious meetings with potential investors over recent months about developing the brand potential for Giles, especially in fine jewellery and accessories. Those talks are progressing well, and they are in advanced stages."
Giles will unveil his S/S12 collection at London Fashion Week next Monday.
