Adele is on top of the world at the moment! Besides captivating the world with her best-selling album, 21, the Brit has just landed her first-ever Vogue UK cover. It isn't her first Vogue appearance though. The 27-year-old was photographed for US Vogue back in 2009 which sparked controversy over whether Anna Wintour had airbrushed the singer to make her appear slimmer.

Two years later and Adele has scored her own cover because she has "won over the world with her heartbreaking voice and her ability to seem as if she very much herself," Alexandra Shulman says. Inside the mag, Adele jokes about being the face of "full fat Coke".

"I've seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don't want that in my life,' the singer told Vogue. "I have insecurities, of course, but I don't hang out with anyone who points them out to me," she added.

The October issue of UK Vogue is on sale this Thursday.
