Sneak peek: Balmain's younger diffusion line
As promised, Balmain are coming through with the goods on their "younger," diffusion line called, Pierre Balmian. The label has unveiled the first spring 2012 looks from its second ready-to-wear line. As you can see, the line is much more casual and down-to-earth with still a bit of that Balmain edginess that we love.
"We see Pierre Balmain as a new and distinct brand that is inspired by the successes and history of a great house, but offers a look and product that respond to the needs and desires of today's marketplace," Balmain chairman and chief executive officer Alain Hivelin told WWD.
The line has been overseen by Olivier Rousteing, who earlier this year took over from Christophe Decarnin as Balmain's creative director. Pierre Balmain will also have a new website and social media strategy which will be launched during Paris Fashion Week.
