Vogue Italia seems to be ushering a new era in women's fashion magazines by putting three plus size models on its June 2011 cover. Franca Sozzani is making good on her pledge to incorporate more plus size content not only in her magazine but also on the Vogue Italia website.

"Why should these women slim down? Many of the women who have a few extra kilos are especially beautiful and also more feminine," Sozzani said in an interview earlier this year.

For the top spot, she cast Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, and Robyn Lawley who were photographed by Steven Meisel in black-and-white. It marks the first time plus size models have graced the magazine's cover since the days when Sophie Dahl was doing the rounds.
