Following on from our blog post about Florence Welch being the inspiration behind Gucci's A/W 2011 campaign comes the news that the label will dress Welch for the Florence & The Machine's Summer tour of the U.S. PEOPLE reports that Frida Giannini has created the singer's tour wardrobe which consists of ethereal gowns which will allow lots of movement on stage.

"When Florence first came onto the scene, I was captivated by her eccentric style and her willingness to dare," Giannini says in a release. "I felt there was such an authentic energy to her sound and her look. That was confirmed when I met her at the Grammys earlier this year."

Besides using Welch as the inspiration behind Gucci's A/W 2011 collection, the designer admits that she also set her show to one of her songs, "Hurricane Drunk".

Meanwhile, Florence says: "I was completely bowled over by her collection. The dresses seemed perfect for my shows, the colours, the shapes, the movement in the fabric. So it seemed natural that we work together on creating some pieces for my upcoming U.S. tour. I'm very grateful to Frida, it's been a wonderful experience and I can't wait to get dressed for the stage!"

The tour is expected to kick off at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on Friday.
