Jil Sander and Uniqlo call it a day
It seems like the end of the road for Jil Sander and Uniqlo. After three years of collaboration, the Japanese retailer has confirmed that Sander's A/W 2011 collection for her +J label will be her last.
A release stated: "with the recent completion of the design of the A/W collection, Ms. Sander and [Uniqlo] agreed that they had fully explored the possibilities of their creative collaboration and accomplished what they had set out to do. Consequently, the two parties have decided to wrap up their design consulting agreement with this collection."
In 2009, Sander was brought on to oversee Uniqlo's product lines, but only ever really focused on her own label of women's and men's clothing. "I wanted to have a new challenge and a new dream," she said at the time of her appointment.
